A shorter wedding post for you all today! A month or so ago I got to shoot with the lovely Sara at Ava Weddings downtown Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. I had so much hanging out with the guys in the morning and joining the rest of the crew just before their first look. The botanical gardens are so incredible! Unfortunately we had to move it all indoors due to some unfortunate weather, but it didn’t keep any spirits down. I love second shooting so much, because I get the chance to see how other photographers work and occasionally I get to learn a new tip and trick here and there too. Here’s a small portion of the day I captured, enjoy!
Last one of the week! Ready for some more cute? Because I sure am!
So! We ended our trip home with another crazy excellent family session. I have a few regular amazing families now for portraits, so you may recognize them from last years session about to add a new little one to their trio. Well here she is! Lylah is so gorgeous and cute and it’s so easy to tell her bigger brother just adores her. He also loves playing with sticks, rocks, acorns, spotting ducks and snails (squirrels actually) and is still as cute as a button. It was fun letting him take a photo or two (I kept the camera in my hands, no heart attacks necessary!) and just letting him run around exploring the world around him. I can’t wait til Lylah grows up and I get to see her explore with her big brother too! Thank you Michigan too, for giving us the most perfect shooting weather Sunday, because it was simply amazing.
More more more! Time for more photos! Weddings are always special, but the feel even more special when you shoot them on your anniversary. And that’s exactly what we did last weekend :D (happy seven years Paul – and happy beginnings of forever to you Maureen and Matt!)
Maureen and Matt are spectacular people – remember them from their incredible engagement session a few months ago? Uh yeah, so adorable! We were expecting rain almost all day last Saturday, but the skies blessed us with sun with not a cloud in sight. This however meant it was a touch warmer than anyone was expecting for June, but everyone powered through it with a mixture of catching a good wind, finding shade, and ice cold water. Maureen looked stunning in her lace dress, and Matt had an air of unparalleled merriment throughout the whole day. They were married in the woods near the Centennial Barn in Wayland, MI and partied into the night in the gorgeous red barn. Also, another couple with a pie cutting instead of a cake? Yes please! Mmmm pie!
Another amazing few days in Michigan this past weekend, a fantastic trip with another set of incredible families and images!
So first little babe Louie gets the spotlight! Remember this little guy from a year ago? Well, I mean he’s barely little anymore…. who told him he was allowed to grow up!!? Louie just turned two a few weeks ago and he definitely still has all those same great expressive faces (as you’ll see later on down the images, I dare you not to giggle at least three of them!) and that sweet nature to him. We strolled on down to the park and had some grand old times on the swings… and some not ole’ grand times getting off them. But then ice cream! What a beautiful family and fantastic day.
